First, I’ve been wanting to publish this blog and my Youtube Channel for a while now. I was not happy enough about how the site looked, I was wondering if my content was good enough and I basically wanted it all to be perfect. But I decided to say fuck it, launch all this with a raw feeling, and then my blog post, and Youtube videos would just improve as I learn and you guys would be able to join me on that journey, and watch me grow. Isn’t that more fun? ♥
Second, I have also been wanting to share this news with you guys for a while, but I wanted to wait until everything was 100% in place. There are still a few things that need to be organized, but I could not hold it in anymore, and we are leaving in 9 days!!! My feelings are all over the place, it’s a mix of anxiety, curiosity, and happiness. New York will always be my home, but as I said in the video, I’m in my mid 20ies and now is the perfect time for me to go out and explore the world. I have no obligations, no kids, no job, I’m free! Am I doing the right thing, I have no idea… All I know is that this is something I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time, and it’s finally happening.
Our first stop will be Antigua in Guatemala, we rented an Airbnb there for 5 days. I have some friends that been there before and they recommended a few fun things we should do there. Antigua seems like a beautiful city with a rich culture and landscape, I’m really excited to see the pyramids and volcanos. I will make a separate blog post about where we are staying, how much we paid etc. We are staying there from the 12th – 16th of August. Stay tuned, there will be happening a lot in here, and also on my Instagram and Youtube!
The second stop will be in Tulum, Mexico. My 2 sisters and one of their boyfriend, are coming with us too. So for Antigua and Tulum, we rented a place that can fit 5 people. Tulum was a bit more expensive than Antigua, but that was also because we wanted a bit more of a luxury feeling there. We will stay there from the 16th – 22nd of August, then we are headed to Mexico City to fly to Bangkok.
We are not sure if we should spend 1-2 days in Bangkok, or if we should leave immediately to our “final” destination – Koh Samui. Have any of you been in Thailand before? Should we spend a few days in Bangkok, or not worth it? Your suggestions are highly appreciated! Regardless of that, we rented the Airbnb in Koh Samui for 1 month, from the 23rd of August to the 24th of September. I will show you all the pictures from the Airbnb very soon. It’s so cheap there, we might end up staying there forever if we like it, haha.
After that, we want to go to the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bali and all the other places in South East Asia. We don’t have a solid plan, so there will be some alternating along the way! As I’m sitting here in my room in New York, all this seems very overwhelming. But what is the worst thing that can happen? People always traveled, and for me, it’s one of the most important things in my life to learn about new cultures, meet new people, and explore what the world has to offer. Having too much of a routine life can also be dangerous, suddenly you’re 50 years old and haven’t explored anything. Traveling has always been a big part of my family, and that is something I’m very grateful for.
Anyways, I wanted to include the dates in this post, in case any of you are there at the same time it would be fun to meet up! Also, as I mentioned above, suggestions about places to see, things to do, people to meet, is all very appreciated. I should stop typing now, and try to figure out what I should pack?! Talk to you guys soon!
xx
